Work Summary

I wanted to create a plant blog celebrating and cultivating a love for the practice of modern gardening. Starting with this goal in mind, I conducted research that solidified targeting three particular types of millennial audience sections which I then developed into more concrete audience personas.

The messaging for this blog would be simple and consisted of three overarching brand truths:

  1. Plants are important and beneficial to people.
  2. Owning plants should be fun and rewarding.
  3. Anyone can be a successful plant owner.

In addition to the above, I wanted to include a recurring theme that:

“Having a green thumb, most always comes down to getting only 3 simple things ‘right’: the right information, the right species of plant, and the right physical environment.”

Working off of the personas, I then developed the brand identity and colors to appeal to a sense of whimsy and nostalgia. This naturally progressed into using a more timeless take on a retro Y2K aesthetic for the brand look and feel.

Though still in the copy creation and content planning phase, the Rosemary and Ritual blog is set to launch in late December 2023 or early January 2024. Organic social media promotion teasing the concept and launch is slated to start in late 2023.
